Trails and outdoors conference
Trails and Outdoors conference
There's less than a month to go to the biggest collective gathering of trails, outdoors and recreational organisations, leaders, educators and promoters across the state - who come together for the biggest industry event of the year.
The WA Trails and Outdoors Conference 2015, to be held on Friday 9 October is set to be big and feature some of the most inspiring world adventurers with lots share about their amazing experiences. National and international experts will explore the value of participation in the outdoors.
One such speaker is Lucy Ridsdale, whose passion for long-distance walking was sparked in 2001 when she walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and since then has walked over 5,000km on trails in Australia, Ireland and Spain.
Her presentation Walk, and be cheerful once again: "A joyful exposition of the benefits of long-distance walking for the 21st century soul", is not to be missed.
It draws on her experiences of walking many thousands of kilometres over the last fifteen years. In 2010 she walked solo, end-to-end on the Bibbulmun Track for her Honours thesis entitled "Pilgrimage and the Alchemy of Transformation".
